in the shadow of the Moomin – Swedish Radio

Listen to all of Monday’s P1 Culture with Måns Hirschfeldt

At the Millesgarden museum in Stockholm, opened the last weekend of the exhibition Tove Jansson – the Desire to create and live. It is a traveling exhibition organized by the Museum of fine arts Atenuem in Helsinki produced when two years ago celebrated the Tove Jansson 100 years with a jätteutställning. At Millesgården, it is, for natural reasons, a different scale, but the direction is the same: to show the breadth of the Artist’s oeuvre and that at the side of the beloved Muminteckningarna is a graphic artist who is less known.

another part of the Tove Jansson activity, which is also been overlooked is her “non-Moomin-vuxenromaner” and then, more specifically, the almost forgotten sun city (1974), a novel set in the united states, is about aging and that the next year is given out in Sweden again.

Kulturredaktionens Nina Asarnoj with Philip Teir, who writes for, among other things, Hufvudstadsbladet and Dagens Nyheter, talk with the P1′s Måns Hirschfeldt about Tove Jansson in the shadow of the Moomin.

Jonas Ellerström: Francis and the animals – Helsingborgs Dagblad

Lars Gerdmars icon "saint Francis".Image: Mattias Piltz

whether we look at the world from a christian starting point, as a given us creation, or from the scientific perspective as an evolutionary process, we must today reflect on and consider the way in which humans relate to nature. Whether we see ourselves as the crown of creation or as Homo sapiens, we must note that we take bad care of the world entrusted to us, that we are abusing the position of power that our species has conquered.

In the icon of the lundamålaren Lars Gerdmar, as pope Francis (f d assistant in a chemical laboratory in Buenos Aires) during his visit in Sweden receive as a gift, is the ecological dimension is important. It makes the picture keen even for us who are non-believers.

the Icon shows the saint Francis, it is natural, given the recipient’s choice of påvenamn, but also has a broader meaning. More than anything, the saints are Francis, in connection with the nature that surrounds man, that man today more than ever, need to try to be a part of. Francis praises in his solsång brother Sun and sister Moon, the wind and the rain, and foremost of all, mother Earth. But also creatures like fish and birds was 1200-talsmunkens brothers and sisters. He, God’s little poor man, talked to them, met their eyes, so that he on the icon to look into the wolf’s eyes.

Legend tells of the dreaded wolf from the village of Gubbio, as shown in the picture put his big paw against the saint’s breast. The tenderness in both of their eyes! Around them, with the green of the umbrian hills as the background, growing reeds and lilies, jumping fish in the river, flying birds of many species. A trusting woodpecker has settled on Francis’s shoulder, but the question is whether the duck on the way into the chapel, not looking quite askance at the saint, who concludes his pact with the wolf. Reform always meet resistance from the narrow-minded.

Still there are wolves in Italy’s mountains. Still flowing fresh water, returning birds of spring, blooming lilies and other plants. And yet exploits man ruthlessly, nature, misshushåller of the earth’s resources, pushing the planet towards an ecological and klimatologisk disaster. We seem to know so much less about our place in the world than Francis knew, and he was so intimate with "our lady Poverty". It is a moral request in the image of him in her simple robe, with his hand on the wolf’s head.

Håkan Steen this is The country’s best rock club – Aftonbladet

Is there a concert venue in Sweden that I know a little extra for it is KB in Malmö, sweden.

Now the country’s best rock club nice enough to hold a whole book.

During my 25 years as a musikskribent there are a few venues that I have felt myself unusually at home at the.

the Café Kristina and Club Submarine in Växjö in the 90′s dawn, Gino and the Studio the first years in Stockholm, Debaser a few years later.

But one of the best to start writing about music in the newspaper Aftonbladet was that I had to go to Malmö and go on Kulturbolaget.

KB was a "real" rock club,, with international flair. Just polished, warm and welcoming, a very good scene and always knowledgeable and engaged audience. "Just like in Austin, Texas", as the Emmylou Harris sa.

It felt that often, instead lifted the performers. And it went from an invisible, ideological line from the Totte Lundgren club at Bergsgatan to Lennart Perssons record store Music & Art on the Spångatan a few hundred metres away. KB booked no trendängsligt nonsense, just solid stuff. So, it still feels.

I have seen Nick Lowe and the "house band" Wilmer X of the KB. Great gig with the Pavement, Eric Gadd, Lucinda Williams and Ron Sexsmith. the The Libertines yxigt fed Sweden debut in 2003. Never Bonnie Raitt on the disc, but when she cooked up its mix of country, rock and soul on KB, it was a total knock.

In the years fill KB 34 years and today will be honoured Sweden’s oldest rock club, a whole book. "KB – artists, profiles, stories" have music journalist and KB-stammisen Per Stronger as the main author and is full of pictures and anecdotes from past and present owners, artists and the audience. As a unique The Pogues-the gig where Elvis Costello jumped in for a sick Shane to a shift in focus. Or if reggaelegendaren Lee Perry went around and "blessed" rather than by shouting "Haile Selassie" and a splash of cognac on the walls.

Above all, the stories from the 80′s on the "old" KB at Erikslust and gig with The Cramps, Clarence Clemons and Rickie Lee Jones difficult "would have been there"-feeling.

It is an entertaining book about a club that not only has meant a lot for Malmö, but for the Swedish music scene at all. As several of the artists says in the book:

"When you got to play on the KB, it was the evidence that they have come somewhere."

Magnus Carlson’s tearful date – the Swedish newspaper svenska Dagbladet

Magnus Carlson looked forward to his own day in the “So much better” before a birthday. He was one of the first artists that were invited to the program and didn’t know who else would take part. But he hesitated as never before to say yes.

” I knew I wanted to be with. When you have been at it as long as I have, it is here such a thing you want done before you die, ” he says, describing the recording as “camp wired with cameras”.

” It was a much greater experience than what I thought when I said yes.

Perhaps more than any other came Magnus Carlson time of the program that is characterised by the Freddie freddie’s and henryk’s demise, because the two were close friends previously. In his section, it will be particularly emotional when Magnus Carlson may hear your friend make one of his most popular songs.

“It was a strange situation to go there a week after he went away,” says Magnus Carlson and call freddie’s and henryk’s interpretation of his song for “the finest gift I have received”.

the Section begins with a serious tone as Magnus Carlson engages the whole gang in a civic activity. But the atmosphere also becomes more hilarious, when the artists will arrange a surprise for him.

” Everybody was incredibly nice, no one was an ego or a diva. I think that we will keep in touch for long, ” he says, and says that it quickly felt natural to be so close to each other. The long inspelningsdagarna did that he forgot the cameras.

– One may well hope that the man is a good man, you can’t fake anything, you can’t go around and play a game in ten days. But it was not needed, we enjoyed each other.

Magnus Carlson in tears after freddie’s and henryk’s song – Aftonbladet

Freddie got to play in an interpretation of the Weeping Willows song "Broken promise land" before he died.

When Magnus Carlson hear the song in the Saturday’s episode of "So much better", he breaks together.

“But it was good to cry, for it will be deflated,” he says to Nöjesbladet.

In the second episode of "So much better" it is Magnus Carlson day. Suddenly will alert Tommy Nilsson in his glass and announces to the performers to hear a låttolkning of Freddie Wadling who passed away just before the program would start recording.

Freddie had chosen to interpret the song "Broken promise land" and managed to record it.

– It is the Weeping Willows the national anthem you could say. We end all of our concerts with it. It is our biggest song, I think, and it is the song I’ve sung the most times in my life and never tire of doing it, ” says Magnus Carlson to Nöjesbladet.

"cry"

the Band had time to rehearse the song with Freddie once before he died. When the tones sounded over the dining table breaks Magnus Carlson together. The tears flowing at the same time as artistkollegan Josefine "Little Jinder" Jinder keep him in the hand.

” It was a real fucking rollercoaster. But it was the whole of the day. But it was good to cry, for it will be empty. It is important to cry.

Magnus Carlson thinks that freddie’s and henryk’s interpretation was similar to Roy Orbison in the music, ” he says.
– And Freddie knew that I love Roy Orbison. We shared this interest together and so he had done my song in such a version. I think he had meant it as a gift to me that I might like it. Therefore, it feels extra nice.

"Is sad"

He also comment that he thought in a similar way with their interpretation of the freddie’s and henryk’s music.

When he and I recognized each other, we did it as a thing between him and me, I have noticed now. We had thought the same. It would be quite intimate between him and me, so it is incredibly sad that he could not be with.

Magnus Carlson has seen the episode in advance and chose to look at it together with his family.
– I have a two year old and an eight-year-old. Åttaåringen got to see grandma and grandpa, so it was very strong, but then we got an opportunity to talk about it and I had to explain why I was crying and that it was not because someone was shitty to me, but to love. It was kärlekstårar. So it was quite nice. It gets a little therapy here, ” he says. SEE ALSO, Magnus Carlson of mourning: "Fully cracked"

Intimate contact with the Strindberg “Creditors” – Radio Sweden

"A tragi-comedy" called the Strindberg play and the laconic cast: "Tekla. Adolf, her husband, a painter. Gustav, her frånskilde man, a lecturer. (Traveling under an assumed name.)" – only the actually telling throughout the piece.

For this Strindberg has which time in order sat down at the skrivdonen to with equal parts frenzy and good mood once again read the lusen of the women. And these triangles between utlevande, like creation, women who sucked the must, and cheated the shirt off both of the lovers and husbands be varied in various settings. Yet he seems never to understand what he actually wrote – how much of the internal conflict bubbling up in the replicas.

And Görel Crona, who brazenly and of course, once again, for both the director and one of the lead roles, has created a show full of these obscure passions and battles. The afternoon sun shines obliquely on the bathing platform from where Johan Hedenbergs sardoniskt skrockande ex-husband engaged in the mind-game with Johan Fagerudds young little naive dauber and Cronas Tekla in light blue spawning colors is most similar to a 20′s"flapper"; here a young woman who takes what she have. And in this, yes, psycho-thriller, to be all three as well as a part of the same psyche where the boundaries increasingly dissolved, and in which all feel they have a claim to require.

"What is a woman, what is a man?" it is as if Strindberg at a deep unconscious level all the time ask themselves in their dramas, behind its façade of peremptorily nättroll. And who is weak and who is strong – the fear to be eaten and exploited swaying like the reeds between the spouses here in Cronas version. "Creditors," Strindberg’s Intimate Theatre of dare, as well as the lascivious and brave to go right in intimate contact with the old titanens "tragi-comedy."

Benedict Cumberbatch good as superhero – Sveriges Radio

They have their fans, Morran and Tobias, who previously appeared in the Swedish Television. This is a scratchy, släpigt mother and son pair. He is 39 years old and have not yet moved away from home. She shuffles around in lounging clothes and looks most of all looking forward to the next cig. They live in what seems to be a rivningskåk and a junkyard.

Robert Gustafsson makes Tobias and Johan Rheborg Morran. Here we have two talented comedian and actor in a film, which I think lacks the warmth that could have made this bearable.

Morran and Tobias: A gift from above feels the most like a pretty shitty movie about two odd characters, where Tobias gives mother Morran electric shock, sending her into the wall with compressed air and spikes her on the same wall with the nail gun and like that it continues. There is no limit to the humiliation. She stands up, and pöser around in their strange clothes and smokes a cig. My rating will be one.

Trolls is a computer-animated movie with the old eastern bloc small cheeky goblin singing, dancing and hugging until one day when the greater evil trolls want to eat them up. A bit into the movie, I wish they did it – ate them.

There were children in the theater when I saw Trolls and some of them thought it was great, so you may take my review with a grain of salt.

I think it is intolerable to hear the little trolls sing the hits in an artificial way.

None of this would have been recorded if it were not for that it would in the movie and at the same time dancing and stepping for over an hour and a half.

My highest personal score will be one. But check out the trailer if you think it may be something for your children.

this Week’s best movie is Doctor Strange with Benedict Cumberbatch as the sjävcentrerade and kylige the surgeon who will be supehjälte and to save the earth.

I have a hard time for this superhjältefilmerna from Marvel, where large parts of the film consists of a battle between good and evil, and where the super powers make the tension disappear.

But Doctor Strange, Benedict Cumberbatch and a really good introduction in which he gets to show off his fine spectacle. The effects are there others that do Doctor Strange special, they are better looking and smarter than most of the time in technology. Therefore I give a four in the ratings for Doctor strange.

the Story is no masterpiece, but the actors and the visuals make it stand out and gets a weak four.

the Day after this is a French mid-life crisis movie. Isabelle Huppert is doing the female lead who gets to see her man leave her for another woman. What will she do when, after 25 years of life together? She choose to continue their everyday life, and spiced it with a visit with a former student, an intellectual guy who moved out of the country with some friends.

But this is not the big emotions film. There is a discussion of the author and choices in life and trudge on. My beryg to the Day after this becomes a sagging third.

Isabelle Huppert is, as usual, worth seeing, but this feels too convenient.

United States of love is a Polish film, if the Poland of 1990, with the new freedom in gråbleka colors. We follow four women who want to have love, they are stuck in a boredom that they want to abandon, but there are no easy solutions. the United states of love tells the closest to the cold and the humiliation as the four women are subjected to feel the most hopeless. My score to United states of love gets a second.

No traditional superhero in Doctor Strange – Göteborgs-Posten

Benedict Cumberbatch in the lead role, in combination with Tilda Swinton in an equally important role give this movie a british touch, a bit of the old James Bond style, which I like. Good, it is also that Marvel Studios does not recycle superheroes (kind of Iron Man, Spiderman and so on) as we have already seen too much of but actually comes with a protagonist that is new to most people, even if I for order’s sake, to point out that serietidningsfiguren Doctor Strange was introduced in 1963.

Skådespelarförutsättningarna is on top

Londonkillen Cumberbatch as I said. He was last year academy-award-nominated for The imitation Game, but mostly, he is known for his eccentric portrayal of Sherlock Holmes in tv series Sherlock. Swinton, although she was born in London, associate it primarily with independent films, but sometimes she shows up in the hit the big time (probably to get together to pay the rent).
Involved in Doctor Strange makes even Chiwetel Ejiofor (oscar nominated for 12 years a slave), Rachel McAdams (True detective), and, a little unexpectedly, Mads Mikkelsen, so skådespelarförutsättningarna is on top.

Well, the game from Cumberbatch and Swinton are of a high class forward to the visual effects, more or less twisted right off from Christopher Nolan’s Inception and the siblings Wachowskis the Matrix movies, it becomes primary for director Scott Derrickson. It is actually a bit of a shame and completely unnecessary.

the Film, which has an expected Doctor Strange from the beginning-approach, will be relatively quiet. Neurosurgeon Stephen Strange is egofixerad, sarcastic, brilliant, and arrogant. He is rich as a troll and has a knastertorrt sense of humor. He knows everything there is to know about modern pop music and it also has a photographic memory.

Lose sensation in both hands

Everything changes when the Strange after a car crash (one of the film’s most spectacular scenes) lose sensation in both hands. No surgery will help. Strange is on the verge of a deep depression, but then he gets a tip to take to Kathmandu.
Where outplayed the film’s second act. Strange hits buddhistmunken The ancient/The ancient one (Swinton) and may learn to perform magic and astral projection, at the same time he must beware of the Dark dimension. Now begins datoranimeringen take a lot of place, but the film is still made with the right twinkle in his eye.

the Film’s third and final act is a far too protracted battle between the forces of good and evil. Mikkelsen plays the dramas bad guy Kaecilius.

Doctor Strange differs a tad from the previous Marvelfilmerna in and with that the Strange is not a traditional superhero. Fuzzy, the worse it gets first at the end, but Stranges very last magic list is clearly fun, as he shows how you can drive someone to madness.

Cumberbatch lifts the “Doctor Strange” to superhjältenivå – Sveriges Radio

Welcome to Nepal… Yes, this is where Tilda Swinton master, filled with wisdom there is, and that’s where Doctor Strange is transformed from a man with a superior attitude towards others, a superhero in the service of mankind.

Two things raise Doctor Strange over the amount of Marvel movies:

The main is Benedict Cumberbatch in the lead role. This is also mentioned Tilda Swinton and Mads Mikkelsen, but it is Benedict Cumberbatch who, in the introduction, sets the level, he is the senior surgeon, not least in his own eyes, he drives fast cars and discusses an operation at the same time via the cell phone, he is invulnerable, until the accident takes place on a winding road and he is badly damaged. And it is happening in a scene which is cinematic eye candy, it is other reason to see Doctor Strange: visually, this is skalpellskarpt from time to time.

the Good is that you avoided to raze large cities and throwing cars in the head on the other, a habit in many of Marvelfilmerna. But the fights and superpowers exist, of course, and it is in the judgment scenes as Doctor Strange goes a little at idle, these punch-at-each other-the scenes have been seen a few times too often in the cinema.

Doctor Strange will find their super powers within himself in Nepal, and he is a survivor.

do you See the film, so should you not travel your for early, the film’s final scene comes after all the eftertext.
