Cat Melvin steals crocheted pastries – Göteborgs-Posten

Knitting is hot. People crocheting and knitting as never before. In Värmland Deje the cat Melvin’s passion for crochet pastries resulted in a spate of thefts.

Already last year showed the cat Melvin strangely keen interest in things of fabric and yarn . He dragged home a crocheted headband, a hat, a pair of knitted mittens and socks, writes New Folkblad.

Now, however, he has caught a total of crocheted pastries. So far, he has won throughout 17 cakes, buns and cakes in the yarn to the family Jacobsson, who do not have a clue about where hantverksbakelserna come from.

– First we thought, “God, he has taken granntösens cupcake” but then he came with a bun, a ballerina, a coconut ball … says math Mia Jacobson to VF.

She suspects that part of the allure of the cat is that he gets a good grip with his paws in the crocheted surface.

But despite the family have asked around the neighborhood does not say they lack some crocheted pastries.

– He has a tygråtta that we have put catnip in, but he is interested not for. It is crocheted gadgets he lights on, says Mia Jacobson to VF.
