Fewer buying downloadable songs. Sales week ending 27 August, the lowest since December 2007 with 15.7 million downloads according to research firm Nielsen Music, writes Billboard. 2015 looks to be the third consecutive year when sales of downloadable music falls.
The reason for the collapse is that viewers moved its listening to various streaming services like Spotify. Streaming music and video so far this year doubled compared with the same period last year, according to Billboard.
