Now, an anonymous buyer put his paws on the rights to the song 350 SEK 250 – although it hardly attracts any money today, writes The Guardian.

It was argued long time that Michael Jackson wrote the song with producer Bryan Loren, but the rumor was later rejected by Loren says he wrote it himself. Jackson did however find the title and sang in the background.

“Do the Bartman” was something of a one-hit wonder and have not generated any large sums in recent years. It has only been played on Spotify 342,000 times, which has resulted in approximately SEK 2 500 to Sony / ATV.

So why buy the rights to it?

– I see it the same way as if someone would buy a cell of the animations in the series, says the lawyer Cliff Fluet, working in the music industry.
