Yesterday came the news that the Iranian director Abbas Kiarostami passed away.
Kiarostami feature film debut in 1973 with “Tadjrebeh” and came in his career to make a wide range of films. Perhaps the most attention, “Taste of Cherry” in 1997 and was awarded the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival.
Unlike many other Iranian artists stayed Kiarostami in Iran after the Iranian revolution in the late 1970s century and his international success paved the way for generations of filmmakers in the country.
Abbas Kiarostami was diagnosed with magtarmscancer other year and has since undergone several surgeries. He was in France for further treatment.
Abbas Kiarostami died in Paris on Monday, writes The Guardian. And he was 76 years old.
