Rutger Gunnarsson, who, among other things, played bass on Abbas recordings, is dead.

The record company Universal Music stated in a press release that the musician, arranger and producer Rutger Gunnarsson has died suddenly in his home in Stockholm. Gunnarsson has produced numerous CDs with both Swedish and foreign artists. He has arranged music for names like Celine Dion and Elton John.

Best known He, however, for his work as bassist of Abba. He participated in all the group’s records and had both a long and close cooperation with Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson.
