On Monday is the premiere of “The Swedes in Guca” in SVT2.
The program is a music documentary in three parts that follow the Swedish group Süperstar Orkestars trip to the big brass band festival in the Serbian town of Guca. There goes mainly Roma bands but also bands from different parts of the world, to play and compete with each other.
“I want with this series have a different focus on the Roma – as amazing, struggling musicians caring for an old tradition and are happy to share it, “writes Jovan Radomir, editor of the series, in an email to TT.
