Royal Opera soprano praised – Västerbotten Courier

The Lithuanian soprano Asmik Grigorian was praised as this year’s International Opera Awards were announced in London.

Grigorian was awarded the prize in the category Young Female Singer.

last year did Grigorian title role in the Royal Opera’s new production of “Madame Butterfly”. She returns to the Opera in the fall to make the title role of Giordano’s “Fedora”.

The Royal Opera’s production designer Vicki Mortimer was praised at the awards in London. Mortimer is current with set and costume to Youth on Opera’s production of “The Road Home”.

Finally, awarded the Swedish mezzo-soprano Ann Hallenberg with an award in the category CD-recital. The Albanian soprano Ermonela Jaho, who sang the title role in the opera production of “La Traviata”, was awarded the Reader’s Award.
