90′s vibes on U2′s forthcoming album – Vasterbotten Courier

The Irish rock giants U2′s upcoming album will remind album “Zooropa” in 1993, reveals the band’s guitarist The Edge in an interview with Q Magazine, writes NME.

He says that this is what their producer Brian Eno hope for in any case.

– (Eno) would love it if we made the album more that way. If it be so? We’ll see, we run on, say The Edge of Q Magazine.

“Zooropa” was the band’s eighth studio album with elements of samples, techno and electronic music. The album received lukewarm criticism when it came. In looking back over the band’s career, writes the American music site Spin that “‘Zooropa’ nearly killed the band’s career.”

It remains to be seen whether the same applies to the new album “Songs of Experience” which is expected to be released sometime in in 2016.
