– I felt that I had the great chance to win. You feel it in quite quickly at this level, says the nykorade dessert champion Martin Morand.

On Tuesday evening aired the finale of TV 5′s popular game shows Dessert Masters. The program did, however, in February last year. In almost a year, then St. Olaf own dessert king brought in on the secret.

– My partner has known about it and I’ve even told my employer, because I knew that this would mean new assignment for me. But then we have been keeping it a secret.

To compete is Martin Morand used to, he has been involved in both the Olympics and World Championship. In the World Cup, he has also taken but victory. Dessert Masters signified a new challenge for him.

– This is actually the first time I compete individually and stands completely on its own. When you compete in teams can always blame the other, he says with a laugh.

Now it was the final of the TV contest still something of a team sport. The other finalist was the fact Landskronabon Jonas Nilsson and he knows Martin Morand well.

– We already collaborate a lot. Normally we teammates in Skåne Kulinar. It is a Swedish Regional competing in the Olympics and world championships in cooking and in the autumn, we will participate in the Olympics German Erfurt, he says.

Early in the filming had the goal to go to the finals together.

– And it was that we wanted, he notes with satisfaction.

Martin Morand winning grants is as much a feast for the eyes as for the palate. Someone who is crucial, he says.

– For me, this is as much art as food. A beautiful appearance sets high expectations, but for dessert only beautiful to look at falls head over heels.

In parallel with the work of the caterer Caterpillar Event has spent the autumn started his own business.

– Four of us who have been Dessert Masters have also come on a little mission, and started a dessert collective, he reveals.

To be part of a public program which Dessert Masters have quickly made Martin Morand to a name a much wider audience than before and gotten a boost in their career.

– When you are in the world championships and Olympic Games are not so many people know about it. Now I know people suddenly do people know who you are.
