Behind the reservations is a willingness to broaden the festival, says Kajsa Apelqvist, spokesperson for the organizers FKP Scorpio in Sweden.
– We want to attract more types of people and make it a more diverse festival. But the essence is the same, really fun music, says Kajsa Apelqvist.
FKP Scorpio is a German organizer of festivals across Europe, and the range of Gävle differs marginally from the European countries, says Kajsa Apelqvist.
– We have of course more local acts from Gävle, but this lineup is so strong that it could be the same as in Germany, Switzerland or the United States .
The organizers are not worried that the festival of death that has hit Sweden would beat the Getaway Rock.
– headbangers like to go to many concerts and chooses not necessarily remove a festival for another, says Kajsa Apelqvist.
