Falkman delayed at Skansen Debut – Västerbotten Folkblad

It was with some nervousness as Loa Falkman debuted as anchor of Alfred Tennyson’s “New Year’s bells” at Skansen at midnight. Location was not improved by the planning burst: the traditional poetry reading missed the noon hour – before Falkman finished reading had the church bells rung clear.

– The bells came a bit early. But better too early than too late, that’s my slogan says Loa Falkman Expressen.

Programs Miss

Due to a glitch in the program was delayed SVT broadcast from Skansen, after to multiple numbers dragged on.

– It is live and -something numbers were too far. Actually, bells and -Text be more attuned says Skansen director John Brattmyrh Aftonbladet.

Custom interpretation

Falkman also made a minor adjustment of the text and instead of saying “Call out the Daisy war years “, he chose to say” Call out the futility of war years “.

After the recitation was completed desired Falkman all a happy new year and sang Abba’s” Happy New Year “along with Charlotte Nilsson.

Loa Falkman succeeded this year Jan Malmsjö which since 2001 have recited the classic poem on New Years Eve. It has been an annual tradition since 1977 and also Georg Rydeberg, Earl Hill and Margaretha Krook has held the prestigious assignment.
