James opens festival Glastonbury – Metro

The British rock band James gets the prestigious assignment to kick in once giant festival Glastonbury.

– We will cut the ribbon and pop the champagne against the ship, said the band’s lead singer Tim Booth told the BBC.

James was formed in 1982 but did not hit through until the band released the hit “Sit down” in 1991, and has subsequently made songs like “She’s a star,” “Laid” and “Tomorrow”. Their latest album “Girl at the End of the World” came out as recently as last week.

Previously include Adele, Coldplay, Muse and PJ Harvey pass for the festival which takes place 23-26 June in Somerset in southwest England.
