Portman for the role of Jackie Kennedy: ‘One of my most difficult’ – Aftonbladet

Venice. All-time most famous American presidentwife continues to fascinate.

Now playing Natalie Portman her “Jackie “.

– It was one of my most difficult roles, for all know how Jackie looked, the way she talked, the way she walked, says Natalie Portman.

Jacqueline Kennedy (1929-1994) was married to the John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) from 1953 until he was shot dead in Dallas, Texas, in 1963. he had been president for nearly three years.

Five years later she married with his good friend and Greek shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis (1906-1975). They were married until his death.

But the movie “Jackie” portrays especially the coming period immediately after the assassination of the president. How she grieve, how she plans for the future, how she sees her position as a woman means something is about to go away.

“Two sides of Jackie”

she portrayed in the film of Natalie Portman , 35, appears she also very keen and adept at giving the right image of himself in public life.

– There was really two sides of Jackie. The public, with a little shy, a little higher, the voice, the interviews available. And so private, I have heard recordings of the events of clinking glasses and a much more spirited Jackie. For me, the movie about how to keep their human side, while to maintain a façade outwards, says Natalie.

For Sweden after New Year

– This really was one of my most difficult roles. Everyone has seen the TV spots with Jackie. In some cases, we reconstructed after such people have seen that when Jackie in a TV movie shows around the White House. Difficult, I’ve never been good at imitating.

She saw none of the many already-made films, TV movies or TV shows (see Appendix) that have been made where Jacqueline Kennedy are included.

– I had absolutely no thoughts other actor when I made the film. There was so much material available with the real Jackie as inspiration.

The film is Sweden premiere in the new year.
