The Chinese artist and activist Ai Weiwei makes art of Lego’s refusal to sell the popular toy for him.
It was the weekend that Ai was denied a large order Lego, with explanatory statement from the Danish company that does not agree that the product is used in “political purposes”. The artist himself called the decision for a rash of “censorship and discrimination,” after which the public stepped in and donated his private Lego Collections him.
Now establishes Ai collection points in a number of cities, and also announced that he intends to make art of the event:
