The comedian and actress Amy Poehler has grown tired of the male hierarchy of Hollywood’s corridors of power.
The Hollywood Reporter, citing an interview Poehler made by the magazine Fast Company , in which she says:
– If I have a meeting with the mighty men, they ask me always “Where are your children? Are your children here? “. It’s such a strange question. I would never question these guys where their children are. It is as if I were to ask a man if he thinks he meets his children often enough.
Amy Poehler says that she embraced what she considers to be a male rhetorical trick.
– I have started talking more slowly during my meetings. Men often talk slowly than women. Perhaps they are more comfortable with taking up more airtime. I’m testing it now, and it’s really hard.
