Lennon’s killer denied release – Västerbotten Courier

Mark Chapman, who murdered John Lennon in New York in 1980, has been denied parole for the ninth time, reports the BBC.

Chapman, today 61 years old, says he realizes that the murder of the former Beatles member was “premeditated, selfish and evil”, but it fell on deaf ears at the penitentiary in New York.

to release Chapman freedom would be “contrary to society’s well-being” and “undermine respect for the law.”

Mark Chapman was sentenced to between 20 years and life in prison for the murder of Lennon.
