Liv Ullmann honored at film festival – Helsingborgs Dagblad

Norway will be this year’s Nordic country in focus at the Gothenburg Film Festival in January. The actor and director Liv Ullmann, up to date with “Miss Julie”, an international film adaptation of Strindberg’s “Miss Julie”, awarded honorary prize Nordic honorary Dragon Award.

– The Norwegian focus will be a wide panorama of the Nordic Film country which might have made the greatest strides in recent years, both artistically and publicly. Eight films have also been selected to compete for Startsladden, the festival’s short film competition. The winner will be announced at an awards ceremony on January 25 and can then sign for close to half a million dollars in the form of film technology and cash. Previous winners include “Gabriel and Laser Man” by Babak Najafi and “Las Palmas” by Johannes Nyholm.

Gothenburg Film Festival takes place 23 January to 2 February.
