“Medea” is written by Swedish composer Daniel Börtz, which is one of the most successful contemporary composers. Daniel Börtz also made “The Bacchae,” directed by Ingmar Bergman at the Royal Opera 24 years ago.
Medea is the main character in Euripides’ ancient drama is an ancient skilsmässodrama where she murders her children, to take revenge on the man who left her for another woman.
The show is broadcasted live in cinemas on February 13 and the Swedish Radio P2 will broadcast the opera on February 20.
