Scrap the current system where the state sets the age limits on biofilms, and instead let the film industry to take more responsibility for classification. It is suggested in a new report that was submitted to the Minister of Culture Lena Adelsohn Roth (M) on Monday.
In the report “A new model for age rating of the film” emphasizes that young look on film in many ways other than the movies today, and the new system should therefore include other distribution platforms. Today is the National Media Council that sets age limits on the films submitted for review, but the responsibility would then be moving on to the film industry. The transition will be gradual, in order to ensure that self-regulation to protect children and young people from harmful effects of the media.
The proposal can become a reality at the earliest in July 2015th
