The social news page Reddit act now to prevent the spread of nude photos of celebrities on the web. The website which linked to several images have been turned down, reports the foreign media.
According to the site TMZ and Business Insider has Reddit in a statement lamented that there was a linkage to nude photos of, among others, Hunger Games star and Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton and Victoria Justice.
The news page also states that the content stored on their servers to be removed.
At the same time closes the website The Fappening on Reddit user who is suspected of having taken part in the spread.
It was a week ago on unknown ways hackers come across nude pictures of female stars. Daily Mail reported that up to 100 celebrities can be affected. The stolen pictures were spread further among others through social media. Twitter had shut down several accounts.
The news that hackers via Apple’s iCloud storage service for Iphone dropped into celebrities’ mobile phones caused many to collapse. Girls star Lena Dunhan wrote on social media, among other things, that the person who had stolen the images are not a hacker but a sex offender.
The FBI and Apple decided to launch an investigation into the leaked nude pictures. Users on Reddit can post your own links on the web or post so-called “self-records” containing text.
