“Welcome to Sweden” stop – Today’s Media

There will be no more seasons of the Swedish-American comedy series “Welcome to Sweden”.

The second season of Greg Poehlers Swedish-American comedy series “Welcome to Sweden” TV4 has struggled with declining audience ratings since its inception. In Sweden, was seen the last episodes of 580,000 viewers. That compares with the premiere of the first season, which was connected to the “Let’s Dance”, viewed by many as 1.6 million.

In June, however, said Greg Poehler to Dagens Media to look the drop was not something that worried him.

– We are not transmitted by Let’s Dance anymore, it’s just a matter of palaces. I’m not worried about the Swedish audience figures, they are only a small percentage of the total viewing.

But after weak figures also in the US, it is clear that the series is being closed. It writes The Hollywood Reporter, and the news is confirmed by Greg Poehler yourself. On his Instagramkonto he writes:

“Because of really bad ratings in the US are WTS officially over. I am forever grateful our fans.”

He also thank the actors Josephine Bornebusch, Lena Olin, Claes Månsson, Per Svensson and Christopher Wagelin, and give a boot to the Swedish press by listing a number of awards series have received under the heading:

” Among our accomplishments (aka “Things you would never read in a Swedish newspaper)”
