Pete Overend Watts, the bass guitarist in the british 70-talsbandet Mott the Hoople, has passed away, reports the BBC. Watt passed away on Sunday from complications of his cancer. On his Facebook writes the band’s keyboardist Verden Allen to:mr Watts was “a hugely charismatic person who always had an amusing story to tell”.
Mott the Hoople was formed in Herefordshire in the late 60′s and got in 1972 his big break with the song “All the young dudes” written by David Bowie. The band split up in the late 70′s, but has been regenerated a few times in the 2000s.
Pete Overend Watts was 69 years.
