After the success of the years became winds, icy when Cheironsoundet died out.
In a new documentary tells Max Martin about the difficult times in the music industry’s freezer.
– We stood there with our bombs and grenades and caught nothing, he says the Swedish Radio “The legacy of Cheiron – an endless story.”
The Swedish recording studio Cheiron became world famous during the second half of the 1990s.
A big reason was the star producer Max Martin that created the world hits for boy bands N’Sync and the Backstreet Boys and pop star Britney Spears.
Cheiron operations ended in the early 2000s and Martin went ahead with the studio Maratone.
Then got success to an abrupt end.
The P4 Stockholm’s new documentary series “The legacy of Cheiron – an endless story,” of Fredrik Eliasson , says Max Martin for years against the wind.
– It was very instructive because we thought that all that came was bad, what we did was the best and once pop culture took a new turn, as it always does, then hung not we, he says.
Was overtaken
The Producer remember when Britney Spears in 2001 released “I’m a Slave 4 U”.
– I thought it was so terribly bad then. A month later I realized that it was probably pretty good, though. It is we who are completely overtaken by new, fresh team of producers and we stood there with our bombs and grenades and caught nothing, he said.
The turning point came in 2004 through cooperation with the sound engineer Serban Ghenea that he was hired to mix Kelly Clarkson’s “Since U Been Gone” and became the starting point for new successes with a rockier sound.
– It changed everything for me, actually. I began to realize that they may not have had to do everything from start to finish, but you can get help, he said.
