Vaughn was 83 years old – Aftonbladet

the American actor Robert Vaughn is dead.

He played including the lead role in the 60-the new series "the Man from U. N. C. L. E."

Vaughn was 83 years old

According to The Wrap, he died of complications in connection with acute leukemia.

Robert Vaughns career began in the 1950s. But it was when he got a tv series in 1964 as the big breakthrough came. The series, originally named "Solo" after the Vaughns character agent Napoleon Solo, was "the Man from U. N. C. L. E." where he was joined by David McCallum, who played the Solos partner Illya Kuryakin.

In an interview in 2005, explained Vaughn, which was his main fans over the years with the tv-series:

” the Girls in the 9-12-year-olds liked David McCallum because he was so cute. But the older ladies and 13-16-year-olds liked me because I was so difficult.

Remake in the cinema

the Television series was a remake at the cinema last year, with Alicia Vikander in a big role.

Robert Vaughn became famous for his cool, elegant style. He played villains and heroes, like the well-dressed. After the success of "the Man from U. N. C. L. E." he appeared in a number of television series until a few years ago. He has had roles in, among other things, "the Brothers Cartwright", "In the law’s name", "A-team" and "Hawaii Five-O".

But he harvested even success in the movies. In the "7 daring life" (1960) he was one of the seven revolvermännen. He played a politician in actionklassikern "Bullitt" (1968) and a villainous millionaire in the utskällda "Superman goes on a krypto-nit" (1983).

Died in his home

Vaughn died at his home in New York early yesterday morning, according to the BBC. He leaves behind his wife Linda, he was married to for 42 years, and children Cassidy and Caitlin.

David McCallum, his partner in "the Man from U. N. C. L. E.", expressed his sadness in a statement:

” Robert and I worked together for many years and to lose him is like losing a part of me.
