Steve Jobs as Syrian refugees – Göteborgs-Posten

The artist Banksy has portrayed Steve Jobs as a refugee in his latest work. The painting appeals to those who have a negative attitude towards refugees.

– We are often led to believe that immigration is a burden to the country’s resources, but Steve Jobs was the son of a Syrian immigrant, says the artist in a statement.

The artist Banksy has unveiled his latest work, which has been painted on a wall in a refugee camp in Calais, France.

The work depicts Apple founder Steve Jobs as Syrian refugees. With him he has a black trash bag and an old Apple computer.

– We are often led to believe that immigration is a burden to the country’s resources, but Steve Jobs was the son of a Syrian immigrant. Apple is one of the world’s most profitable companies, each year they pay over seven billion dollars in taxes – and it exists only because they allowed a young man from the horns come in, says Banksy in a statement, according to the Guardian.

The painting is one of several that Banksy painted in response to the current refugee crisis. It’s just one of several paintings by Banksy that can be found on the walls at the fleeting camp, where many settle in the hope of being able to get into the UK.
