The long wait is over. Wednesday will be the world premiere of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” director JJ Abram’s long-awaited follow-up to the Jedi from 1983. The film, which among other things are displayed in 3D, goes up over 500 salons, which is a record in Sweden and the jackpot for the cinema chain SF.

“We would have liked and gained acceptance for our Wednesday premiere. The Force Awakens premiere on Wednesday in the Nordic countries, the Netherlands, Italy and France. The reasons are slightly different depending on the country, “said Eric Broberg, president of Walt Disney Studios Nordic, which distributes the film in the Nordic region.
He says that the tradition of the Wednesday premieres has a long history in Sweden, which stretches back to the late 90′s.
“We were actually the first this when we presented the premiere of Con Air on a Wednesday in 1997. We have had Wednesday premiärdag for several other films since then,” said Eric Broberg and mentions Alice in Wonderland, The Avengers and Iron Man as an example.

The idea is that a premiere Midweek must launch live longer.
“There are some blockbusters that you can have the premiere for midweek. They go well anyway, “said Eric Broberg.
