– We have a script that is very dramatic and cool, says the director said.
In brief visit in Stockholm before the premiere of the thriller “Gone Girl” on October 3 says director David Fincher that he would continue with the Millennium series. This despite the fact that the first film, “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” (2011) with Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara in the lead roles, was not the financial success that had been required to ensure a continuation.
– The pulled in a quarter of a billion dollars but it is not enough to pay for it. Then it’s not as direct stress of paying for a second film, so it is unfortunately not up to me.
But the project is not dead and David Fincher has not given up.
– I think because it already has spent millions of dollars on the rights and the script so it will result in something. The script that we now have a huge potential, I can reveal as much as it is extremely different from the book.
One problem is that Daniel Craig plays 007 in it, which David Fincher points out, extremely profitable James Bond series.
– So we would need to schedule us around it.
TT: Would you like to come back to Sweden and work
– Yes, but not in the winter, ha. But summer would be fun, I remember when we were filming the last ten days here, then I and my wife earlier and spent a week with our daughter who was here alone one period. I brought my mom, too, and we rode around and ate at all the great restaurants, it was incredibly nice.
