Beyond the banal – Helsingborgs Dagblad

Henrik Arnstad has, since his book “Loved fascism” was published in 2013, has come to be quoted as Sweden’s foremost expert in the field. Stefan Löfven referred to his conclusions when he called the Sweden Democrats for a fascist party. Arnstad mean that the party carries on an ideological core in the form of ultra-nationalism: an almost religious vision of the nation as superior to other political thoughts.

This is not all Swedish fascism researchers particularly happy and a debate that has been going in different forums for a couple of years has been concentrated in the last two issues of the journal Review Feedback. The researchers Göran Fredriksson and David Brolin criticize Henrik Arnstad to argue carelessly and trivializing the real fascism when he put his stamp SD. The party is rather conservative and racist, they mean.

Arnstad enters an appearance and says that Swedish fascism researchers not understood to embrace the latest international research. He means in turn that there is a trivialisation of the Sweden Democrats not to call them fascists.

The debate is so hard about which theory is the smoothest and plays the growing exclusionary nationalist tendencies most of the hands. Helsingborg audience can hear Henrik Arnstad give their view on the city library in the evening.
