The Guardian reports that there was a single vehicle accident in Cartersville, Georgia.
Bob Burns approached a curve and ran off the roadway. He then crashed into a tree and a mailbox. Bob Burns was the only person in the car and did not wear a seatbelt when the crash time, writes Hollywood Life.

Ex-drummer was with and shaped Lynyrd Skynyrd 1964 played on the band’s first two albums.
He left the band in 1974 and was replaced by Artimus Pyle.
2006 reunited him with Lynyrd Skynyrd for a special appearance when the band was elected to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The band members included then was, besides Bob Burns, Ronnie Van Zant, Rickey Medlocke, Gary Rossington, Allen Collins, Ed King, Steve Gaines, Leon Wilkeson, Billy Powell, and Artimus Pyle.
