Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra – Once in a massage chair near you. The musicians begin a partnership with a company that is interested in music and massage in perfect harmony.
Gothenburg Symphony’s sounds and harmonies will soon be heard in a completely different context than at the Concert Hall. In an attempt to combine music and massage writes the contract with a manufacturer of medically certified massage chairs. The company, which has been active since the 1950s, plans to put Symphony’s music in their app, so that in the armchairs seated persons must be able to release extra endorphins.
The armchairs provide massage to counteract stress, stimulate muscles and increase blood through-flow. Already fourth promised “work wonders”.
The current company invests in parallel also for more research on massage and music, among other things, in cooperation with the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, and in collaboration with researchers in China and the Middle East.
– Yes, I’ve heard whispered about this but really do not know much about it yet, says the Gothenburg Symphony’s press contact Stefan Nävermyr. His colleague communication director Urban Ward know little more:
– Yes it is almost clear. There will be music by us in these chairs.
Why do you choose to join in this partnership?
– It is great to music by Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra can be heard in all sorts of contexts and reach out to as many people as possible.
What have you chosen for pieces of music?
– There’s a guy at we named man Pairs Fogelberg sitting and selects it right now, so it is not clear. But my guess is that you will have peace and quiet when you get a massage, so it is not likely to be the compositions that make you the most upset, says Urban Ward.
