There will be no further hearing on the copyright issue in the birthday song “Happy birthday” since the two parties have reached a settlement.
In September, a judge Los Angeles point for a two-year dispute between the music publisher Warner / Chappell and filmmaker Jennifer Nelson, who claimed that Warner illegally earned money on copyright “Happy birthday”. The judge concluded that Warner / Chappell has no copyright for the song.
The next week there would be a new trial, but it will not get rid of when the parties have agreed on a settlement.
