The 33 people were injured when lightning struck down in the midst of the current German music festival Rock Am Ring Saturday night. Eight people were injured when lightning first met backstage area, and 25 more when camping area suffered a moment later. Several concerts were canceled, and the festival management offering visitors shelter in large, lightning-safe tent.
The 33 people taken to hospital, but no one is seriously injured.
The festival is organized in Mendig and curls about 100 000 visitors. This year plays including The Prodigy, Slash and Interpol.
