“Röhsska future far from settled” – Göteborgs-Posten

Berndt Arell, Director General of the National Museum, proposing enhanced cooperation with Röhss. But culture chairperson Mariya Voyvodova (S) would not comment on the political will before all the facts are on the table.

In an article in Sunday’s GP expresses Berndt Arell concern Röhss, an institution like the National Museum has several ongoing collaborations with. At the same time a museum Arell notes are in a “difficult situation with a reduced financial support from the State and without head”. He would therefore “increase the national presence in the VG region” through a “long-term and deeper cooperation between Röhss and National Museum.”

Conny Brännberg (KD) , President of the region’s cultural committee , looks Arells played out like a hand outstretched above all to Röhsska main shareholder, the City of Gothenburg.

– As I understand it, this is an offer of enhanced cooperation.

About the region will be invited to participate or not is a question for later, according to Conny Brännberg, who now looks forward to hearing how the city of Gothenburg agrees to the offer:

– What do they say about the proposal? What do they want with Röhss? And do they want with us?

Mariya Voyvodova (S) , Chairman of Gothenburg Cultural, would not, however, precede the investigation right now are completed by Thomas Nyh, entrusted to review the regional and municipal co-financing including Röhss.

– For me it is important that we create a continued long-term co-financing between the region and the municipality. For a long time the difference between municipal and regional contributions have been great. It is unreasonable that we continue to have such uneven distribution. Röhsska future is far from settled. Once we have all the facts on the table, I will be able to express myself better on the political will, and how it looks.

You’re talking about the continued co-financing. There is therefore no regionalization of Röhss?

– I can and do not want to answer that question now because it is an ongoing investigation.

Do you understand the concerns of the National Museum’s Director General expresses?

– I regret that the government funding to Röhss has decreased, which I see as a result of the previous government of bourgeois politics. For me it is important to find a solution that is good for Röhss in cooperation with the region.

Culture Administration Director Anna Rosengren spoke on Monday with Röhsska unit manager Christa tower-Lindhe who will contact Berndt Arell.

– This extended collaboration sounds interesting to us, so we would love to hear him develop his ideas.

This has happened:

Tom Hedqvist, 67, left the May hastily post of director of the Röhsska Museum. The reason is that he does not get continued confidence to lead the museum after February in 2016.

He is the second boss in three years who resign from the museum, which is being financed.

unit managers Annika Johansson and Christa tower-Lindhe leads temporarily Röhss while waiting for a new manager.

patron Tomas Söderberg, and Röhsska friends, plummeting after the chief spoils.
